What the notice says

  • The result is provisional until the marksheet is signed by the controller of examinations.
  • Students who see "Not Promoted" can still apply for the next year under the promotion rules of their session.
  • Revaluation (board challenge) opens a few days after publication and closes on a fixed date. Miss it and you cannot apply late.

Two ways, both official

How to check NU Result

There are only two official ways to see a National University result: the result website and the SMS gateway. Both give the same answer. Use whichever is easier for you right now.

Best if you want the full marksheet with subject-wise grades.

  1. Open the result server

    Go to results.nu.ac.bd. On result day the page can be slow, so wait for it to load instead of refreshing again and again.

  2. Choose your exam

    Pick the course and the exam name — for example Honours, then 1st Year. Choosing the wrong exam is the most common reason for a "result not found" message.

  3. Type your roll or registration number

    Use the number exactly as it is printed on your admit card or registration card. Do not add spaces, dashes or the college code.

  4. Select the exam year

    This is the year the exam was held, not the year you were admitted. Students mix these two up all the time.

  5. Press search and read the result

    Your name, roll, registration number, subject grades and CGPA appear on screen. Take a screenshot or print the page for your own record.

  1. Open the message app

    Any mobile phone works. You do not need internet or a smartphone.

  2. Type the format

    Write NU, a space, your exam code, a space, then your roll number. For Honours 1st Year that is NU H1 123456.

  3. Send it to 16222

    This is the National University SMS gateway. It works on Grameenphone, Robi, Banglalink, Airtel and Teletalk.

  4. Wait for the reply

    You get your result as a return SMS, usually within a minute. On result day it can take longer because millions of messages arrive at once.

Grades, points and CGPA

NU CGPA result and marksheet

A pass or fail line is not the whole story. Your marksheet shows a grade and a grade point for every course, and those points decide your CGPA. Here is how to read it, and a calculator to work out your own.

See your CGPA and marksheet

  1. Open the result server and pick your exam

    Go to results.nu.ac.bd and choose your course and year, the same way you would for a normal result check.

  2. Enter your registration number

    The detailed marksheet view usually asks for the registration number rather than the roll. Keep your registration card next to you.

  3. Select the exam year and search

    The result sheet opens with your name, college, subject list, letter grades, grade points and the final CGPA.

  4. Read the grade column carefully

    An F in any course means you must sit that course again. A NP or "Not Promoted" line means you did not meet the promotion rule for the next year.

  5. Save a copy

    Print the page or save it as PDF. Your college office often asks for it during the next year's form fill-up.

Board challenge

NU revaluation application

If your marks look far below what you expected, you can ask the National University to check your answer script again. This is called revaluation, or board challenge. It is a paid application with a hard deadline.

How to apply

  1. Read the revaluation notice first

    The notice names the exam, the last date and the fee. Only the courses listed in that notice can be challenged.

  2. Open the revaluation form

    Go to the National University application portal and choose the revaluation or board challenge option for your exam.

  3. Enter your registration number and select courses

    Tick only the courses you actually want re-checked. You pay separately for each one, so choose carefully.

  4. Download the pay slip

    The form gives you a printable slip with your application number. Keep it — you need it for payment and for tracking.

  5. Pay the fee

    Pay through the method named on the slip: Sonali Seba at a Sonali Bank branch, or the mobile financial service listed in the notice.

  6. Submit the copy to your college

    Hand the paid slip and the form to your college office before their internal deadline, which is always earlier than the university deadline.

Payment is only accepted through the channel named in the official notice. Nobody from the university will call you and ask for money on a personal number. If someone does, it is a scam.

  • Sonali Seba Print the pay slip and pay at any Sonali Bank branch. Collect the stamped student copy.
  • Mobile banking Some notices allow bKash, Rocket or Nagad through the university portal. The portal will show the option if it applies to your exam.
  • College collection A few colleges collect the fee themselves and pay in bulk. Ask your department before you pay on your own.

Before you apply, know this

  • Revaluation is a re-check of addition and of any unmarked answer. It is not a fresh evaluation of your writing.
  • Your marks can stay the same. In most cases they do. The fee is not returned if nothing changes.
  • The result of the revaluation is final. There is no second appeal.
  • Applying does not stop you from filling up the form for the next year. Do both.

Revaluation results come out two to four months after the application closes. They are published as a separate notice, and only the roll numbers whose marks changed appear on it.

How to check a revaluation result

  1. Find the revaluation notice

    Open the notice board on the National University website and look for the notice that names your exam and the word revaluation or board challenge.

  2. Download the PDF

    Most revaluation results are published as a PDF list. It contains only the roll numbers whose marks were corrected.

  3. Search for your roll number

    Open the PDF and use the search box — Ctrl+F on a computer, or the search icon in a mobile PDF reader — and type your roll number.

  4. If your roll is not there

    Your marks did not change. The original result stands and no further appeal is possible for that exam.

  5. If your roll is there

    Check the updated result on the result server. Your grade, grade point and CGPA are corrected automatically once the notice is published.

NU Result — common questions

How can I check my NU result?

Open results.nu.ac.bd, choose your course and exam year, type your roll or registration number and press search. You can also send an SMS in the format NU <exam code> <roll> to 16222. Both are official and both give the same result.

What is the SMS format for National University result?

Write NU, then a space, then the code for your exam, then a space, then your roll number, and send it to 16222. Honours 1st Year uses H1, 2nd Year H2, 3rd Year H3 and 4th Year H4. Degree uses DEG, Masters Final uses MF and Masters Preliminary uses MP.

How can I see my NU result with marksheet and CGPA?

Use the result server rather than SMS. Choose your exam, enter your registration number instead of your roll, and select the exam year. The page then shows each subject with its letter grade, grade point and your final CGPA. SMS only returns the short result, never the full marksheet.

Why is the NU result website not working?

On publication day millions of students open the same page in the same hour, so the server slows down or times out. Wait ten to fifteen minutes and try again, use mobile data instead of shared Wi-Fi, or check by SMS, which runs on a different system and is far less affected.

Can I check NU result without a registration number?

Yes. The short result — pass, fail or promoted — works with your roll number alone, both online and by SMS. You only need the registration number for the detailed marksheet and for a revaluation application.

What does "Not Promoted" mean in an NU result?

It means you passed some courses but did not reach the CGPA or the number of passed credits your session needs to move up to the next year. You continue in the same year and sit the failed courses again as an improvement or re-admission candidate, following your session's regulation.

How much does NU revaluation cost and how long does it take?

The board challenge fee is normally BDT 1,000 for each course you challenge, and the application window closes about two to three weeks after the result is published. Results of the re-check are usually published two to four months later, as a separate notice.

Is 2.00 CGPA a pass in National University?

A grade point of 2.00 is a D, which is the lowest passing grade in a single course. Whether a 2.00 CGPA promotes you to the next year depends on the promotion rule written in your own session's regulation, so read that notice rather than relying on what a senior tells you.

What is the latest NU result published?

The most recent regular examination result is the Masters Final Year (2023) result, published on 06 August 2026 with a pass rate of about 60.97%. Around 1,81,992 students from 181 colleges appeared. Before that, the Degree (Pass) 2nd Year result was published on 11 July 2026 (pass rate about 93.53%), and the Honours Admission Release Slip result for the 2025-26 session was published on 22 July 2026. This page is updated as soon as each new notice is out.

When will the NU result 2026 be published?

The National University does not fix a date in advance. Results are usually released three to five months after the last exam of that year, and the notice appears on nu.ac.bd on the same day the result goes live. This page is updated as soon as each notice is out.

Is this the official National University website?

No. This is an independent help desk. Your roll number is passed straight to the official National University server and the answer you see comes from there. The official sites are nu.ac.bd and results.nu.ac.bd.

About National University results

The National University of Bangladesh is one of the largest universities in the world by student number. It does not teach students directly. Instead it affiliates around two thousand colleges across the country, sets one common syllabus, holds one common examination and publishes one common result. That is why a single result notice can cover several lakh students at once.

Results are published in cycles. Honours runs over four years, Degree pass over three, and Masters is split into a Preliminary year and a Final year. Professional courses such as LLB, BBA and BEd follow their own calendar. Each cycle produces its own result notice, its own revaluation window and its own set of dates, which is why we keep a separate page for every exam.

What a result notice actually contains

An official notice names the exam and session, gives the publication date, lists the ways to check the result, and states the revaluation deadline and fee. It rarely contains the pass rate — those figures come from the press release the university issues on the same day. We put both together on the exam pages so you do not have to look in two places.
